SJU Dance Team 2011-2012 Spring Auditions

Where: Athletic Center on Maguire Campus (multipurpose room) - labeled as upper/lower sports complex on map (www.sju.edu/inc/campusmap/index.html)

Auditions for each season take place each Spring.  Fall Auditions are the first week of the academic school year.  Fall auditions are only held if there are open spaces left on the team after the Spring Audition.

Auditions are open to any and all full-time Saint Joseph's University Students, as well as any registered Freshmen or transfer students who will begin at SJU full-time in the Fall of the coming year.

Criteria:
All individuals will be judged on technical ability, personality and performance.

Technical requirements include, but are not limited to:

Pirouettes - doubles required, triples are preferred

Fauté turns

Axel turns

Toe touches

Hitch kicks

Switch leaps

During the preliminary round of auditions, you will be asked to perform all technical requirements to the best of your ability. All individuals who make it through the first audition based on technical merit will then be asked to learn a short combination that will be performed at the final audition.
